 "Cause We All Need Somebody To Lean On"

Being blessed to be in the position that I am right now, I often have the privilege to enter into a person’s life during the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. It is really one of the most rewarding parts of ministry. One moment we are sharing the joy a person has, and the very next we are called to be the Christ figure for a person in need. Often times these ups and downs can take their personal toll on someone in ministry, which, inevitably, causes them to need someone to lean on just as much.

No matter if you are the person seeking others out, or the one who is sought out by others, it is important to know who those people are in your life that you can go to when things really get rough. Who will you turn to when it seems like no one else is there, and on the other end of the coin, when everyone turns to you and it seems like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, do you know it’s o.k. to turn to someone else for help as well? There is a quote by St. Augustine and it goes something like “Friendship, is only genuine when it is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who is given to us from God.” My prayer is that you identify those relationships in your life that you know are lasting and true so that when you find yourself in a situation which you need someone you know just who will be there for you.

eXclaim! is a day that Christians of all ages can gather in a celebration of life, love, and faith.  Through music, games, sports tournaments and prayer we will strengthen our faith and build the local Catholic community.

Throughout the day participants will be able to enjoy music on the main stage, play on inflatable games, participate in children’s activities, compete in sports tournaments, and browse booths from local Catholic ministries

The culmination of the day’s activities will be a celebration of the Eucharist. This Mass will include clergy from across the diocese, music from various parish programs and ministries performed by Catholics from all parts of the Toledo Diocese.
