Divorced & Separated Support Group

Our support group provides a safe place during this critical transition of your life.  As we come together, we can learn more about divorce and separation by listening and sharing with others who are also walking this difficult journey.

Going through a divorce or separation is very difficult to understand and work through.  Our support group provides an environment of complete confidentialty.  We meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Emmaus Room.  All are welcome to attend.  You do not have to be a parishioner at St. Pat's or be of Catholic faith to attend.

As we are painfully trying to get through our divorce or separation, sometimes we find ourselves hiding behind a mask so it can protect us from the emotional pain and fear we are feeling.  We also reflect on the love that we lost and the fear of love in our future.  There is much forgiveness that has to take place before we can even begin to move forwarded.

Next Meeting: Tuesday 7-9 p.m.   April 10th    Topic:  "Singleness, Dating, Purpose".

The difficult journey of a divorce or separation is full of life's ups and downs, so how do you move forward from here?  You will now be leading a single life, so it is time to invest in your own personal growth first, rather than focus on other relationships.  Eventually though you will be interested in dating again.  After many years of being in a committed relationship, how do you do that and not get hurt again?  Take the time needed to reflect on your life ahead, what is your best for yourself and your family, and begin to live more in the present.  Join us for the discussion on "Singleness, Dating, & Purpose" at our next support group meeting on Tuesday, April 10th at 7 p.m. in the Emmaus Room.  Any further info, please call Rita at 724-4675 or email at rita.hoff@toledostpats.org.

Bereavement Support Group

We are never prepared to say goodbye to someone we love. There were things we still wanted to do. We wish we could have had more quality time. But in the end, we find ourselves feeling, no amount of time can prepare us when we lose someone we love.

Our topic this month is "I Wasn’t Ready to Say Goodbye". Our presenter Susie Waible-Rose from St. Rose Parish will speak to how the circumstances of your life will define the sort of life choices that are now open. Decisions you must make and decisions you can chose to make. For further information please contact Rita Hoff at 419-724-4675 or email rita.hoff@toledostpats.org.

In our brokenness, we do not notice how the entire process of grief is impacting us.  Grief is aphysical, emotional, behavioral, mental, and spiritual journey.  It impacts our entire being in ways we are not aware at the time.   Our speaker, Cynthia Schroeder, LPCC from Hospice NW Ohio will present Common Grief Reactions.  Please join us on Tuesday, April 3rd in the Emmaus Room from 3-4:30 p.m.  Any questions, please call Rita at 724-4675 or email at rita.hoff@toledostpats.org

Hospice of Northwest Ohio also has several Grief Support Groups in place that are free and open to both adults and children. There are groups for entire families to attend together, men in grief, children's group for ages 5-12, teens women, loss of a parent of a spouse. There are varying days and times for each group. Please call Hospice at (419) 661-4001 for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities: We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in writing cards to parishioners who have lost a loved one, acknowledging their loss and extending an invitation to our Bereavement Support Group.

For more information, please contact Rita at 419-724-4675 or email rita.hoff@toledostpats.org.
