Project Rachel

This organization provides confidential help to anyone suffering from the grief of an abortion. There are people that you can talk to in confidence about your experience. If you feel you are ready to talk with someone who understands your pain, call the Project Rachel Help Line at 410-260-5811 or visit www.projectrachel@toledodiocese.org.

40 Days for Life

40 Days for Life consists of 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, 40 days of constant, peaceful vigil outside abortion centers and Planned Parenthood offices and 40 days of active pro-life community outreach. This year, SPH has committed to gather and pray outside the local Planned Parenthood office one day in October.  If you would like more information, please contact Carol Mohler by email or at 419-385-3531.  To learn about how you can participate, visit www.40daysforlife.com

The Freedom of Choice Act

Information about "The Freedom of Choice Act" (FOCA)

FOCA would establish the right to abortion as a fundamental right (like the right to free speech) and wipe away every restriction on abortion nationwide, such as
  • Bans on Partial Birth Abortion
  • Requirements that women be given information about the risks of getting an abortion
  • Only licensed physicians can perform abortions
  • Parents must be informed and give consent to their minor daughter's abortion
  • Right to Objection of conscience by medical professionals

It will eradicate state and federal abortion laws that the majority of Americans support and prevent states from enacting similar protective measures in the future.  (Here are the bills: Congress & Senate.  The summaries for each are basically the same:)    Government would no longer be allowed to "discriminate against the exercise of the right . . . in the regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or information." That means that tax dollars would be used to pay for abortions.

Please inform yourself about FOCA, and do your part to STOP the most radical abortion legislation in American history!  Listed below are many links that will help you to learn more so that you can feel confident when you tell others about it.  It's easier to keep an act from being legislated than to reverse it once it's passed.  That is why we still have Roe v. Wade in 2009!

If you don't think this is important, please consider this:

"The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," Obama said in his July (2007) speech to abortion advocates worried about the increase of pro-life legislation at the state level. (source: LifeSiteNews.com)
