Upcoming events at SPH

Parish Picnic -- with a twist!
On Sunday, Sept. 19, we will revive the tradition of the parish picnic - with a twist! Join us for a Biblical-style gathering to eat, play games and listen to stories! The parish will provide chicken. The rest of the meal will be pot-luck. We are challenging cooks to be creative... click here for a list of ingredients that would have been commonly available when Jesus was a child! See if you can incorporate some of these into your dish!
For more info, or to volunteer, please call Pam Mohler at 419-724-4770 or email her at pam.mohler@toledostpats.org

Class of 1976!

There will be an impromptu reunion of the SPH Class of 1976 this Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at the Distillery at 6 p.m. It is being coordinated by Amy Winterhalter Rosenberg (513-794-0921) or Julie Dorr Hinz (419-572-1387). Amy & Julie hope to have a large turn-out, so won't you help us spread the word!

Catechetical Sunday is Sept. 19!

This year, Catechetical Sunday will focus on "Matrimony: Sacrament of Enduring Love". Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith.

On this day, SPH will commission those who have been called by God to serve as catechists. During the commissioning, the catechists will publicly state their willingness to serve as one who will pass on our Catholic faith to the members of our parish, both young and old. The commissioning will take place at the 4:30 Mass on September 18 and the 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30 Masses on September 19.

Thank you to all who have been called!
