Suggestion for March 2009 - do a service project as a family. It is the season of Lent and a great time to reach out to others. One suggestion is to make care packages for people in homeless shelters. Use a ziplock bag and put soap, lotion, shampoo, deodrant, toothpaste, toothbrush and a pair of socks in the bag. Put a note of encouragement written by the family in the bag. Donate your men's care packages to the Cherry Street Mission or Open Door Ministry. Women's care packages can be donated to the Sparrow's Nest or Aurora Project.
Outreach for February & March
We shared our hearts and love with our Loose Change Collection by collecting our loose change every Wednesday night during February & March. Each classroom collected their change (lots of pennies ) on Wednesday nights. The eighth grade students counted all that loose change. We collected the amazing amount of $345 for the scholarship fund at Charter One for the Pfisterer children. A job well done by everyone. The top four classes received ice cream sundaes on March 25 - thank you to the moms who helped serve the ice cream. Thank you to everyone for all their loose change.
