St. Pats/OLPH Blood Drive

This joint parish project provides units of blood to the American Red Cross for emergency situations at area hospitals. There are approximately 125 units donated to the Red Cross each year by participants in this drive! To donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh between 110 and 350 pounds, be in good general health, and not have donated whole blood in the past 56 days.

We have a blood drive 2 times a year - in August and January. If you'd like to donate blood at any other time, please contact the American Red Cross at www.redcross.org.
Volunteer Opportunities: In addition to giving blood, we have many volunteer opportunities in order to allow us to continue helping the American Red Cross. We always have a need for people to be greeters, work at the sign in tables, and appointment phone confirmations. And we also need registered nurses to assist the Red Cross employees.

For more information, please contact Bill Thome.

Habitat For Humanity

Habitat provides decent, affordable housing with the help of the homeowner (partner) families and volunteers. It is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Habitat is not a give-away program. In addition to a downpaymet and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds ofhours of their own labor -- sweat equity-- into building their Habitat home and the homes of others. Families in need of decent shelter apply to local Habitat affiliates. The affiliate's family selection committee chooses homeowners based on their level of need, their willingness to become partners in the program and their ability to repay the loan. Every affiliate follows a nondiscriminatory policy of family selection. Neither race nor religion is a factor in choosing the families who receive Habitat houses. If your family, or a family you know, is in need of decent, affordable housing, contact Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity at www.mvhabitat.org.

Volunteer Opportunities: Habitat is always in need of volunteers to help with ome builds, special events, operations at ReStore and help in the office. Contact Habitat at 419-382-1964 or visit www.mvhabitat.org.

Feed Your Neighbor

Feed Your Neighbor  Ministry provides nonperishable foods to individuals and families in emergency situations without the means to provide nourishment for themselves.  This ministry collects food items on the second weekend of every month at each mass.  Part of this food is distributed to the Aurora Gonzales Center in the South end and an emergency supply is stored in our parish pantry to assist families as a need arises. The food you bring to help with this vital process is greatly appreciated by the many families we are able to assist.  If you know of someone who needs assistance, please contact Chris Drouillard at 419-346-9490.

Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are needed to assist in the collection of nonperishable foods after the Masses. For more information, contact Dave Murray at 419-250-6399.

St. Vincent dePaul Society

This society provides aid in many forms to those who are in need. The assistance provided includes food, clothing, furniture, help paying utility bills or rent assistance. This group also can help connect people in need to resources and service agencies in the wider community. There are resources available -- if you know someone in need, please call the parish office at 419-381-1540 and ask to be connected to the St. Vincent dePaul message center.

Volunteer Opportunities: You can help by providing clean cloting or gently used furnishings. Also help is often needed to pick up or deliver items to a family. For more information, contact Barb Dixon.
