Winter Policy

So that there is no confusion on what our policy regarding parish and school events in the winter, this statement is being written.

Whenever the School is being closed on a normal school day due to weather.

ALL events are cancelled for the parish and the school.

in addition please see the following from the Diocese and Fr. Tony Borgia:

Level 3 Snow Emergencies:

Bishop Daniel Thomas accepted the following text as the official policy of the Diocese of Toledo relating to Level 3 Snow Emergencies. This policy is effective immediately.

Whenever a county/city within the Diocese of Toledo is placed under a Level 3 Snow Emergency, during which all roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel, the Catholic Churches within that geographic region will cancel the scheduled Saturday Vigil, Sunday, or Holy Day Masses. Roman Catholics in that region are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass. If Masses are cancelled, Catholics are encouraged to participate in Mass via television, radio, or internet, making a spiritual Communion. When Mass is cancelled, all other diocesan, parish, or school events in that geographic region are also cancelled.

In addition to the above: In the event that there is a level 3 during the week, Daily Mass is cancelled.

When school is cancelled during the week due to bad weather, all scheduled meetings & gym practices are cancelled for that day & evening.

When school is cancelled because of SNOW, WE WILL NOT have daily Mass.

When school is cancelled because of cold, we will have daily Mass.

If school has a two hour delay, we will have daily Mass.

Please watch the morning news Channel 11 or 13 for information.

Diocese of Toledo Safe Environment Program in Full Compliance with USCCB Norms.

Each year, the Diocese of Toledo is required to undergo an audit to ensure that it is in compliance with the articles of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. Bishop Daniel Thomas is

pleased to announce that, for the fiscal year 2017-2018, the Diocese was found to be in full compliance with the requirements in the Charter.

The Diocese of Toledo remains committed to ensuring the protection of children and providing a safe environment for all young people. If you have any knowledge of abuse that has been committed by a cleric, or any employee or volunteer of the Catholic Church, please report the abuse to your local police department, Child Protection Services, and Mr. Frank DiLallo, Diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator. Mr. DiLallo can be reached at (419) 214-4880 or by mail at 1933 Spielbusch Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43604.

A vibrant catholic community

St. Patrick of Heatherdowns is a vital part of the Catholic Church, united in one faith, one baptism, committed to the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ in word and sacrament. We worship together as the Body of Christ, we minister to one another in the spirit of the Gospel and we reach beyond ourselves to those in need of our time, talent, and treasure. We become the living presence of God in love and service.
